Variety description

10 August 2026

The Pinot Kors variety (breeding number UD. 156-537) is characterized by high vigor and horizontal shoot growth. The plant requires canopy management to limit excessive growth and adapts well to various training systems, showing best results with the Guyot system.

Bunches are medium to medium-large in size, conical in shape, moderately loose, with 3–4 wings. Berries are medium or small, spherical, blue-black in color with thin skin. The yield of the variety is estimated as medium or above medium.

The variety possesses resistance to downy mildew (genes Rpv1, Rpv12) and powdery mildew (gene Run1), however, it can be susceptible to damage by grape erineum mites. Berry pulp is soft, taste is neutral.

Wine from this variety has a profile reminiscent of Pinot noir, with notes of rose, red fruits, and spices. It is distinguished by a high anthocyanin content, silky tannins, and is suitable for aging.
