Variety description

The variety is the result of breeding work at the Research Institute for Viticulture and Enology of the University of Pécs. It is genetically classified as Vitis vinifera. The ripening period is characterized as early-mid; the variety possesses high yield and high resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew.
The flower is hermaphroditic. Leaves are round, three- or five-lobed. Clusters are medium-sized, conical in shape, and usually dense or medium-dense. Berries are medium, round, dark blue in color with a thick bloom, thin skin, and fleshy, juicy pulp.
The variety is intended for the production of red, rosé, and sparkling wines. The aromatic profile of the wines resembles Pinot noir with characteristic notes of cherry and red fruits; the wines are distinguished by a light color with purple hues and good acidity structure.
