Variety description

The variety is an interspecific hybrid containing genes of Vitis vinifera, Vitis berlandieri, and Vitis rupestris. The vines are vigorous. The clusters are medium-sized, moderately dense, with 1–3 wings. The berries are blue-black, round, medium-sized, with colorless pulp. The leaf is pentagonal, unlobed.
The variety has a medium ripening period; sugar accumulation occurs more slowly than in Pinot noir. It possesses high resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, botrytis, black spot, and black rot. It has good resistance to winter frosts and the ability to regenerate after spring frosts.
A wine variety for the production of intensely colored red wines with a fruity aroma and moderate acidity. Due to the specific tannin composition, aging in barrels is recommended. The variety is better suited for temperate climates.
