Variety description

The variety belongs to the species Vitis vinifera L. and is characterized by late bud break. Clusters are medium-sized, conical in shape, winged, and fairly dense. Berries are medium-sized, round, dark blue in color with a waxy bloom. The pulp is fleshy and juicy, with a harmonious taste, sometimes with a slight astringency.

The variety is noted for stable productivity, however, it has low resistance to frost and fungal diseases. Currently, it is encountered extremely rarely. Wines from this grape are characterized as simple and easy to drink.

The variety should not be confused with the Alphonse Lavallée variety, which is often erroneously called Ribier.
