Riesling Renano is a synonym for the variety Riesling. The grape leaves are funnel-shaped, coarse, wrinkled, with raised veins on the underside. Leaf petioles and unripened shoots often have a reddish hue. The clusters of the variety are typically compact, the berries are small, golden-yellow in color, often covered with brown spots.
The variety belongs to the late-maturing group and possesses high resistance to low temperatures, which allows it to be cultivated in northern wine-growing regions. The plant is prone to shedding of the ovaries and the formation of small, seedless berries (millerandage). The grapes are characterized by high acidity, which ensures the longevity of the wines produced from them.
