The variety is the result of a spontaneous crossing of the Weißer Heunisch and Traminer varieties. The leaf of the plant is large, 3-5-lobed, with a coarse blistered texture on the top and pubescence on the underside. The apex of the shoot has a reddish hue and strong pubescence. The clusters are large and dense, the berries are oblong, green to yellow-green in color with thin skin.

The plant is vigorous and very high-yielding, however, it requires significant care and green canopy management. The variety is characterized by limited winter hardiness and susceptibility to diseases such as powdery mildew, downy mildew, and gray mold, and is also sensitive to incomplete wood maturation.

Wines from this variety possess a moderate alcohol content, freshness, and high acidity, with aromatic notes of green apples, citrus, and mineral nuances. Due to its characteristics, the variety is a sought-after base for the production of sparkling wines.
