Variety description

The variety is an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing Goldriesling with a Vitis riparia × Vitis rupestris hybrid. The plant has moderate vigor and forms small, cylindrical, loose clusters with small black berries. The berry juice is colored, which classifies the variety as a teinturier.

The variety demonstrates good resistance to downy mildew but is susceptible to powdery mildew. It is adapted to a short growing season and is popular in northern winemaking regions. The grapes are used for the production of red, rosé, and dessert wines, characterized by aromas of dark berries, as well as earthy and smoky notes.
