The variety is a natural hybrid, genetically identical to Aramon Noir. In Portugal, it is considered a minor variety, and its cultivation is residual.
The plant has medium-sized pentagonal leaves with three weakly defined lobes and slight pubescence on the underside. Young shoots are characterized by a carmine margin along the edge; flowers are hermaphroditic.
Bunches are medium-sized, conical in shape, and of medium density. Berries are ink-blue, round, medium-sized, and covered with a skin of medium thickness.
