The variety is a natural hybrid of Cayetana blanca and João Domingos. The vine is vigorous, with a medium ripening period, which may be late depending on conditions. Bunches are large or medium, cylindro-conical, and of medium density. Berries are medium, round, white in color, with thick skin.
The variety is productive and provides stable yields. It possesses high drought tolerance, medium resistance to powdery mildew and downy mildew, but is susceptible to gray mold and esca. It is used to create wines with notes of tropical fruits, citrus, peach, and honey; it is suitable for aging in oak barrels.
The acidity of the finished wine depends directly on the harvest time. It is often used in blends with Arinto and Roupeiro varieties to achieve a balanced structure and acidity of the drink.
