The variety is autochthonous to the province of Bari, Italy, and belongs to the category of rare or minor varieties. The plant has perfect flowers and very large leaves with a dome-shaped profile and pronounced surface blistering.
The clusters of the variety are of medium length and compactness, with a conical shape. The oval berries are medium-large in size with green-yellow skin that develops pink hues upon ripening; the flesh is colorless and of medium consistency.
The variety is intended for winemaking and has historically been used in blends, comprising about 20% in combination with local aromatic varieties, for example, Malvasia.
