The vines have moderate vigor. Leaves are large, five- or seven-lobed, with a rough surface; the flower is hermaphroditic. Clusters are medium-sized, cylindrical-conical, and loose. Berries are medium-sized, oval-shaped, golden-green in color, with thick skin.
The variety is drought-tolerant but sensitive to high humidity. It is susceptible to fungal diseases, including downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey mold. Berries are characterized by moderate acidity and high sugar accumulation.
The variety is the result of a natural cross between the varieties Malvasia Fina and Dedo de Dama. It is used primarily for the production of white fortified wines, and sometimes as a table grape.
