Variety description

The plant is of a mid-ripening period and possesses high vigor and stable yield. Leaves are large, dark green, entire or 3–5-lobed, with pubescence on the underside. Bunches are large; berries are round and of medium size.
The variety is relatively resistant to downy mildew and powdery mildew, but is susceptible to black rot and sensitive to wind, which can break the shoots. Wines from this grape are characterized by moderate alcohol content, pronounced tannins, and low color intensity.
In the past, the variety was widely cultivated in France, however, its acreage has currently decreased significantly. There are surviving century-old plantings that survived the phylloxera epidemic due to the practice of winter flooding of the vineyards.
