Variety description

The variety is a natural hybrid of the Cainho da Terra and Gouveio varieties. The leaf is rounded, five-lobed, weakly or moderately dissected with an open lyrate petiolar sinus. The flower is perfect. Clusters are small, conical in shape, dense or very dense. Berries are small, oval in shape, with thin skin and a waxy bloom.

The variety is characterized by low yield. It is sensitive to spring frosts due to early bud break and does not possess high winter hardiness. Assessments of resistance to fungal diseases vary across different sources.

Wine variety used for creating white wines, including white port, as well as varietal wines. Characteristic features of the finished product: light taste, high acidity, aromatics with hints of citrus, lavender, wildflowers, and mineral notes.
