Variety description

The variety is a wine grape with a centuries-old history of cultivation in the Campania region. The plant's leaves are medium-sized, round, slightly lobed, with dense arachnoid pubescence on the underside. The berries are characterized by a small size and thick skin.
The ripening period is medium or medium-late. The variety is susceptible to powdery mildew and downy mildew. The open structure of the bunch ensures good aeration, but susceptibility to fungal diseases requires control.
Wine quality depends on yield: if excessive, the drink loses structure. With proper cultivation, wines from Fiano have aging potential and a pronounced aromatic profile with notes of nuts, honey, white flowers, and tropical fruits.
