The variety has ancient origins, traditionally associated with the Campania region. It is a wine grape intended for creating white wines with aging potential. Morphologically, the plant has medium, round, slightly lobed leaves with dense cobwebby pubescence on the underside.
Bunches are small or medium, conical in shape, with one developed wing, and of medium density. Berries are medium, oval, golden-yellow in color, and protected by a thick skin. The variety belongs to the mid-late maturity group, and is distinguished by medium yield and high sugar content in the fruit.
Fiano B. is susceptible to powdery mildew and downy mildew, while showing relative resistance to grey mold. To obtain a high-quality harvest, crop control is required to avoid a decrease in the concentration of flavor and aroma compounds in the wine.
