The Hungarian variety Generosa has a medium-late maturity group, reaching technical maturity in late September to early October. The vine has above-average vigor and upright shoots. Clusters are small, cylindrical or cylindro-conical, of medium density, weighing about 130 g. Small, round or slightly oval berries turn a pinkish-red color with a purple tint and a grey bloom upon ripening; the skin is thin.

The Hungarian variety is distinguished by increased winter hardiness down to -23°C and resistance to rot and powdery mildew, with average yields. The grapes are used to produce dry and dessert wines with aromas of citrus, exotic fruits, and oriental spices. The Portuguese variety Generosa is a wine grape hybrid of the Fernão Pires and Sultana Muscat varieties, grown in limited quantities in the Azores.
