Gelber Muskateller, also known as Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains, belongs to the Vitis vinifera group. It is a wine variety with medium vigor, forming small to medium cylindrical bunches with small, round, golden-yellow or amber-colored berries with thin skins.
The variety ripens in the medium to medium-late period. It is sensitive to drought and fungal diseases, such as powdery mildew and grey mold, and also possesses low winter hardiness and a tendency toward flower shedding under adverse weather conditions during flowering.
The grape is distinguished by a rich muscat aroma with notes of citrus, spices, white flowers, and elderberry. It is used for the production of dry, dessert, and sparkling wines, which are characterized by high freshness and pronounced acidity.
