Variety description

The variety is a descendant of Furmint and is a vigorous vine with good shoot maturation. Leaves are medium-sized, rounded, with cobwebby pubescence on the underside. Bunches are medium to large, cylindrical or cylindrical-conical in shape, and loose.

Berries are medium or small, rounded, greenish-yellow in color, turning golden upon ripening. The skin is thin, which makes the variety susceptible to noble rot. Yield is 50–70 c/ha.

The variety is relatively resistant to downy mildew and phylloxera, but less resistant to powdery mildew, drought, and winter frosts. The grapes are used for producing varietal and blended wines that possess full body, high sugar content, and harmonious acidity.
