Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety originates from France (Bordeaux) and is a natural hybrid of Cabernet Franc and Magdeleine Noire des Charentes. Shoot growth is of medium to above-average vigor, and cane maturation is good. Bunches are medium-sized, weighing 113–150 g, and are cylindrical-conical in shape. Berries are rounded, dark blue, almost black, with a heavy waxy bloom.

Leaves are medium-sized, five-lobed, dark green, with arachnoid pubescence on the underside. The variety possesses relative resistance to downy mildew, berry rot, and frost, but is susceptible to powdery mildew. Due to its thin skin, it is sensitive to dampness and the risk of grey mold infection, as well as to severe drought.

Sugar content of the berries is 19–23%, acidity is 5.2–8.5 g/l. The grapes are used for producing table and dessert wines. The variety is adapted to various soils, though it shows the best results on clay soils that retain moisture.
