The variety originated from a natural cross between the varieties Cabernet Franc and Magdeleine Noire des Charentes. The vines are characterized by medium vigor. The ripening period averages 152–164 days. Bunches are cylindro-conical, medium-dense, weighing 130–200 g. Berries are medium-sized, rounded, dark blue in color with a waxy bloom and firm skin.

The variety is high-yielding with a shoot fruitfulness coefficient of about 1.7. It is relatively resistant to cold, drought, and downy mildew, but susceptible to powdery mildew and gray mold, especially during rainy weather. Wines made from this variety are distinguished by intense color and a harmonious taste with fruity notes.
