The variety is the result of breeding work crossing Sangiovese and Merlot varieties. It is used exclusively as a wine variety for the production of wines possessing a harmonious taste with silky tannins, capable of aging for six to eight years.

Wines from this variety are characterized by a combination of the elegance and acidity typical of Sangiovese with the softness of Merlot. The bouquet contains notes of ripe cherry, black currant, violet, rose, as well as nuances of cocoa, spices, tobacco and leather.

Technical characteristics such as ripening periods, disease resistance and morphological parameters of the bush are not described in available publications.
