Variety description

The variety is the result of clonal selection of the base grape Olaszrizling, also known as Welschriesling. The clone retains the main species characteristics of the original variety, including medium vigor of the vines and late ripening.

Unlike the base variety, the G.K.18 clone is characterized by more pronounced acidity and increased crop aromatics. Like the parent variety, it possesses relative frost resistance, but is sensitive to grey mold, downy mildew, and powdery mildew.
