The Olasz rizling P.2 clone is a technical wine variety. It was selected as part of a clonal breeding program to improve the biological base of the original Olasz rizling variety and to increase the consistency of wine quality.

The plant demonstrates significant variability in the structure, size, and shape of the cluster, which became the basis for the further isolation of sub-clones. A number of P.2 sub-clones possess increased resistance to rot due to a looser cluster structure and thickened berry skin.

The growth parameters of the clone depend on the vine training system; in cultivation practice, a cordon system with long pruning is used. The P.2 clone itself is a subject of further breeding work, as a result of which derivative sub-clones, such as P.2/6, P.2/10, and P.2/23, were obtained.
