Olivette Beaujolaise is not an independent variety, but rather a historical or local French name for the Gamay variety. The variety originates from Burgundy and is widely cultivated in the Beaujolais region.

Gamay belongs to wine grape varieties. Morphologically, it is characterized by medium-sized and compact clusters, as well as medium-sized round berries. The variety is susceptible to diseases typical for European varieties of the Vitis vinifera species.
