The variety is of German origin, having emerged on the banks of the Rhine river as a result of a cross between Gouais blanc and an unknown wild variety. The vines have medium to vigorous growth; leaves are rounded, three- or five-lobed. Clusters are small or medium-sized, often of a dense cylindrical shape.

Berries are small or medium, round, greenish-white in color with a yellowish tint and dark spots, covered with thin but firm skin. The vegetation period is 148–160 days, which classifies the variety into the late maturity group.

The plant possesses good winter hardiness, withstanding up to -20...-27 °C. Resistance to diseases is assessed as good, although susceptibility to Botrytis cinerea is noted. The produce is characterized by high acidity and a complex aromatic profile, including fruity, floral, and mineral notes.
