The variety is characterized by medium to strong vigor. It is a frost-hardy plant, while exhibiting sensitivity to fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and downy mildew, and is also susceptible to grey mold.

The purpose of the variety is exclusively industrial, for the production of a wide range of white wines from dry to dessert. The wines possess a complex aromatic profile that changes during aging from fruity-floral notes to characteristic petrol tones.
