The variety is native to the Galicia region, particularly the Pontevedra province. It belongs to the rare varieties that were almost lost and preserved only as individual old vines on private plots. After being identified by researchers, the variety was included in the official register of wine grape varieties of Spain.

The plant has pentagonal three-lobed leaves. The cluster has a cylindrical shape with a wing and is compact, containing more than 200 berries. The berries are round or elliptical, yellow-green in color, with juicy flesh.

The variety demonstrates drought tolerance and potential resistance to downy mildew. Wines produced from this grape are distinguished by freshness and minerality with notes of green apple, citrus, and balsamic undertones.
