The variety is an interspecific hybrid containing genes of Vitis labrusca, Vitis lincecumii, Vitis riparia, Vitis rupestris, and Vitis vinifera. Genetic analyses identify it as a hybrid of Seibel 8724 and Plantet, although there are versions suggesting a cross between Seibel 5474 and Chardonnay.

Bunches are small or medium, elongated-cylindrical, and winged. Berries are small, round, white with a possible pinkish tint; the flesh is pulpy. The variety requires grafting onto rootstock and short pruning.

The plant is classified as moderately resistant: it possesses resistance to downy mildew but is sensitive to powdery mildew, anthracnose, and gray mold. Winter hardiness is low. Wines from this grape resemble Chardonnay in style but are prone to oxidation.
