The variety is an interspecific hybrid containing genes from Vitis vinifera and American grape species, obtained from the cross of Seibel 8724 and Plantet. The bunches of the variety are small or medium, elongated-cylindrical, often with a wing. Small round berries turn a yellowish-pink hue upon ripening and possess fleshy pulp and sweet juice with a characteristic varietal aroma.

The plant is relatively resistant to downy mildew, but highly susceptible to powdery mildew, anthracnose, and gray mold, which requires mandatory fungicidal treatments. Due to insufficient resistance to phylloxera, the variety needs to be grafted onto suitable rootstocks. Wines produced from this variety are characterized by high alcohol content and specific aromatics, but are prone to rapid oxidation.
