The variety is a natural hybrid of the Gouais Blanc and Ouliven varieties. The official name of the variety is Rosé du Var; the name was changed to eliminate confusion with the white variety Roussanne.
The grapes are characterized by large clusters and pink-colored berries. It is a wine variety intended for the production of white or rosé wines, which are characterized by low aromatic intensity.
