The variety is a natural hybrid of Traminer and Roter Veltliner. The name of the variety is associated with the characteristic copper-red or bronze tint of the tips of young shoots. The leaves are medium-sized, heart-shaped, five-to-seven-lobed, with cobwebby pubescence on the underside, and the veins can be reddish in color.
The bunches are medium-sized, conical in shape, and very dense. The berries are greenish-yellow, juicy, oval-shaped, with a weight of 1–2 g. The variety belongs to late ripening groups, is demanding of heat and sunlight, and prefers calcareous soils.
Due to the density of the bunch, the variety is sensitive to gray mold, as well as to powdery mildew and downy mildew. Wines made from this grape are characterized by a high content of extractives, full body, balanced acidity, and aromas of peach, pear, melon, and almond.
