Variety description

Indigenous Portuguese variety with hermaphrodite flowers. Leaves are round, five-lobed, weakly or moderately dissected. Bunches are small, conical with a wing, of medium density. Small round berries are white in color, with juicy pulp and skin of medium thickness.

The variety is susceptible to powdery mildew and grey mold. It is characterized by a rapid loss of acidity during ripening. Wines from this variety possess moderate acidity and aromas of citrus, stone fruits, acacia, and laurel. Due to the wines' tendency to oxidize, it is recommended to consume them young.
