Smudna Belina is a traditional local variety included in the National List of Varieties of Croatia and is protected under biodiversity conservation projects. Currently, the variety is not widely distributed and is being studied for experimental purposes.
This grape is classified as a wine variety for winemaking. Chemical analyses show that the fruits possess a high content of total phenols and a medium antioxidant potential. The variety is adapted to local growing conditions and requires standard agrotechnical maintenance practices.
