The variety is traditional for Croatia and is characterized by good and regular yields. Its young shoots are fragile and prone to damage during strong winds, so planting in open areas is not recommended. The variety is susceptible to downy mildew, but is generally not considered particularly sensitive to fungal diseases.

The grapes have a medium to high sugar content with high total acidity. In scientific studies, the variety is considered in the context of genetic diversity and the phenolic composition of Dalmatian varieties, demonstrating a relatively low content of C13-norisoprenoids.
