Slatkarinac is recorded in international registers as a synonym for the Glavinuša variety; it is also mentioned in lists for the Okatac variety. The variety originates from Croatia and is the result of a cross between Vugava and Plavac Mali.
The grapes are used in winemaking and can be classified as table grapes. It is characterized by the presence of hermaphroditic flowers and a black color of the berry skin.
