The variety is also known by the names Pannónia, Keszi ropogós and Póczik 2. It was obtained by Ferenc Póczik and passed state registration in Hungary in 1959.
The variety is widely distributed in amateur gardens and is occasionally found in commercial plantings. Research related to this grape includes the study of vine training methods and mulching techniques when grown in unheated greenhouses.
