The variety is autochthonous to Portugal and has several synonyms, such as Roupeiro, Códega, and Crato Branco. The plant is characterized by medium or above-medium vigor, perfect flowers, and rounded five-lobed leaves with weak or medium indentation.
The clusters are small or medium-sized, conical in shape, with small or medium rounded berries of yellow-green color. The variety is noted for high yield, however, it possesses susceptibility to powdery mildew, downy mildew, and various types of rot.
The grapes produce fresh white wines with notes of citrus, flowers, peach, and melon. Due to the wines' tendency toward rapid oxidation, they are recommended to be consumed young; the highest acidity parameters are achieved when grown in a cool climate.
