The variety was bred at the Minis Research Station for Viticulture and Enology in Romania. It is a product of crossing the Bican and Chasselas doré varieties. This table variety should not be confused with the wine grape variety Silvaner.

The mature plant has medium-sized five-lobed leaves, which are covered on the underside with tufts of stiff hairs on the veins. The upper lateral sinuses are ellipsoidal, sometimes closed; the lower sinuses are open. The petiole sinus is open, lyre-shaped with a pointed base. The bunch has a conical shape.
