Variety description

The variety is a rootstock with a functionally male flower type; therefore, it does not form berries. The leaves are large, dark green, smooth, and almost entire. Highly vigorous shoots have long internodes, shoot tips are pubescent and colored in a light red shade, and the matured cane is brown.

The plant possesses high resistance to the root form of phylloxera, nematodes, and fungal diseases. It is distinguished by good adaptability to heavy soils and high lime tolerance, tolerating active carbonate content of up to 17–20%. It is drought-tolerant and characterized by good cane maturation.

The grafting properties of the variety are rated as average due to the low rooting ability of cuttings and weak union in bench grafting. Under production conditions, green grafting methods are recommended for working with this rootstock. The variety is known under the synonyms Krechunel 71 and Vazisubani 8B.
