The variety belongs to the mid-late maturity group and is characterized by high but unstable yields. The vines exhibit great vigor, are prone to abundant foliage production, and require regular pruning to prevent the development of herbaceous flavors in the berries.
The plant is resistant to heat and drought, preferring a dry climate, although the variety is considered difficult to cultivate. Due to sensitivity to downy mildew and gray mold, as well as the berries' tendency to crack and rot under high humidity conditions, it requires careful maintenance. The leaves are large, five-lobed, and deeply dissected. Clusters are medium to large and dense. The berries are dark blue in color and rounded.
Wines from this variety possess deep color, good acidity, and a complex aromatic profile with notes of dark fruits, spices, and herbaceous and floral undertones. If not fully ripened, pronounced herbaceous tones may manifest in the wine.
