Trepat Blanc does not represent a color mutation or a separate species. The name is used to denote a production technology for white wines from dark Trepat grapes, similar to the blanc de noirs method, or is occasionally found as a local designation for extremely rare old vines.

The base variety Trepat is an indigenous Spanish late-ripening variety characterized by early bud break, which increases the risk of damage from spring frosts. The plant is vigorous, productive, with large, dense bunches and thick-skinned berries, and is susceptible to Phomopsis.

The variety is widely used for the production of rosé wines and Spanish sparkling wine Cava. When using the technology of producing white wine from dark Trepat grapes, fresh, fruity wines with pronounced acidity are obtained.
