The Ugni Blanc variety, also known as Trebbiano Toscano, is of Italian origin. It is characterized by high yield and significant vine vigor, which makes it widespread in many wine-growing regions of the world.
The plant is susceptible to diseases, in particular downy mildew and gray mold, and is also sensitive to adverse weather conditions during the flowering period, such as high humidity and cold, which provoke flower drop.
The produce of the variety is characterized by high acidity and a neutral aromatic profile. Due to these properties, the grapes are considered valuable raw material for processing into brandy spirits and the production of light table wines.
