Turchetta is an ancient autochthonous variety originating from the provinces of Padua and Rovigo. The variety is for winemaking and is historically used in wine production, where it is valued for its ability to provide good structure, elegance, and character to the finished product.

The plant is characterized by high vigor, good resistance to downy mildew, and a low level of susceptibility to rot. Due to its high tannin content and pronounced acidity, wines from this variety possess a deep purple color and significant aging potential.

The aromatic profile of the wines is dominated by notes of blackberry, blueberry, plum, and violet, complemented by hints of spices, cocoa, and foliage.
