The variety is considered indigenous to the Imotski region in Dalmatia, Croatia. It is an industrial variety used for the production of white wines characterized by an intense yellow hue, mild aroma, low acidity, and moderate minerality. The wines are not intended for long-term storage and are recommended for consumption while young.
The variety belongs to the late-maturing group, ripening at the end of September. It is distinguished by high yield, which requires vine load control to obtain quality raw material. It possesses moderate resistance to grape diseases and requires crown formation and regular care, like most varieties of the species Vitis vinifera.
