The variety is of European origin, with Austria considered its homeland. The vine is characterized by weak to moderate vigor but forms dense foliage. Clusters are small to medium, compact, and cylindrical-conical in shape; berries are medium-sized and greenish-yellow in color.
The variety is susceptible to downy mildew, chlorosis, grey mold, and early winter frosts due to the slow maturation of the wood. It is used primarily in winemaking for the production of white varietal or blended wines, which possess a harmonious taste with mineral and fruity notes.
