For successful cultivation of Narcissus in containers, it is critical to ensure the removal of excess moisture, as water stagnation in a confined space inevitably leads to bulb rot. Mandatory requirements include large drainage holes and a 3–5 cm thick layer of expanded clay. Since the soil volume is limited, potted plants are more susceptible to low temperatures; therefore, if containers are left outdoors, they require frost protection or must be buried in the ground.

Container planting is characterized by high bulb density, which requires the use of a nutrient-rich soil mix based on sod soil, humus, neutral peat, and sand. To prevent flower stalk drooping, preliminary bulb cooling at a temperature of approximately +2°C is employed. In container cultivation, it is preferable to use dwarf varieties, and after the completion of the vegetation cycle, the bulbs are often removed for division and substrate renewal.
