Lemon productivity

A complex indicator of a lemon tree's ability to produce yield, assessed through fruit weight, quantity, and the percentage of successful fruit set. The level of productivity depends directly on cultivation techniques and varietal characteristics.

To evaluate lemon productivity, a methodology is applied that includes accounting for the length of fruit-bearing wood, the number of generative organs, the percentage of successful fruit set, the average weight of fruits, and the total weight harvested per tree. In intensive greenhouse cultivation, productivity can reach 400–500 fruits per bush, whereas for indoor forms, figures of up to 10 fruits are typical.

High productivity requires strict crop load regulation to prevent tree exhaustion, as well as intensive mineral nutrition, particularly with potassium and phosphorus. A deficiency in nutrients or the impact of stress factors during intensive fruiting leads to fruit deformation and alternate bearing.
