Grape Sugar Content

A key indicator of crop quality, reflecting the concentration of glucose and fructose in berry juice, which determines harvest timing and the potential of future wine.

For high-quality wines, target values are considered to be in the 20–24% range, while values below 18–20% are often insufficient for complete fermentation without additional adjustment.

The rate of sugar accumulation depends on insolation and thermal conditions, as well as agrotechnical factors such as water management and the level of crop load per vine.
