The variety is classified as mid-early with a period from emergence to technical maturity of 85–110 days. The plant forms a small rosette of leaves; the height of an adult plant is 0.1–0.5 m.
The root vegetables have a round or round-oval shape, smooth skin, and intense red flesh. The produce is suitable for fresh consumption, cooking, canning, and freezing, as well as for storage for 6–7 months.
The variety possesses resistance to downy mildew. It is an improved selection of the Detroit variety group and is known under a number of synonyms in European countries.
