The name of the variety translates as "black-leaved," which is associated with the dark shade of the foliage. The variety is open-pollinated, which allows for self-harvesting of seeds.
The plant possesses resistance to cold and is capable of withstanding frosts down to -8 °C. Due to its qualities, the variety is traditionally classified as a winter type and is suitable for long-term storage. When cultivating, thinning is recommended with a distance of about 15 cm between plants in a row and 40 cm between rows.
